Our Centre

Arbour Glen is a licenced non-profit centre

Our unique centre provides an inclusive environment that welcomes families of all background and cultures. We have safe, clean, cozy units for each age group, coming together for special activities and outdoor play.

Our primary concern with the child is his/her emotional well-being. When their needs are met, then we find the children will approach the activities which we provide, with much enthusiasm.

Of course there is flexibility and the child is only moved up to the next group when the parent and child are both ready and space is available.

Hours
Our centre opens at 7:30 a.m. and closes at 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Closed on all statutory holidays. We may also be closed between Christmas and New Years, but you will be given credit for the days we are closed.

Child Care Staff are.....
Nurturing professionals, carefully chosen through a selection process designed to determine their ability to meet the needs of young children. Most of our program staff possess a diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education and all are certified in First Aid and CPR. All of our team regularly participate in professional development opportunities and are up to date on the current research and best practice.

Meals
Meals are prepared by our Dietary Planner who offers morning and afternoon snacks and a hot lunch. Allergies and special diets are posted in the kitchen and eating areas. Our menus follow Canada's Food Guide and incorporate multicultural dishes and vegetarian alternatives are offered whenever possible. Arbour Glen is a 'Nut-Free' environment.

Our Outdoor Play yard is nestled beneath large sugar maples. Children play outdoors each day (weather permitting). For one hour in the morning and a one hour play period in the afternoon. Outdoor activities include walks and going on outings. At Arbour Glen we want you to be a part of your child's day with us and so we invite all parents, grandparents and caregivers to join us for field trips. We are known for our high quality trips and programs, usually at no extra charge to our families.

In the summer, we supply Ombrelle Sunscreen with an SPF of 30. We do our best to keep the children out of direct sunlight due to the U.V. rays and follow the recommended guidelines as established by the London Middlesex Public Health Unit.
